• Emily Karlsson studied theater and dramatic arts at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London and then went on to study at The American Conservatory Theater San Francisco.  She then moved behind the camera studying screen writing at UCLA and Media Arts at Santa Monica College.

• In 2015 she worked professionally behind the camera for the first time, for the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, as a producer she secured in house footage for the Olympics.

• In 2019 she was invited to take part in the Women Excel project with Creative Visions and directed her first documentary
